Thank you for your interest in submitting a website to our directory. We appreciate your help in building this directory. Without your submissions, it would not be able to become a world-class resource to finding the best sites on the internet that we hope it will be.

To increase the likelihood that your submission will be accepted, please pay careful attention to the submission guidelines. Sites that do not meet these guidelines will not be accepted, and repeated submissions may be banned.

Essentially, we are looking for the *best* sites in each category to place in the directory. Specific detailed guidelines are below. If you should have a question on any of these guidelines prior to submission, please feel free to voice them via our forums.

Detailed Design Guidelines

• Design should be complete, and in working order:

  Basically, this means that when our moderators visit your site for review it shouldn't have the appearance of an unfinished work. Under construction signs, dead links, "coming soon" areas, etc. are undesirable. Please wait until your site is complete before submitting. Besides, why would you want the extra visitors to see an incomplete work?

• Design should be aesthetically pleasing:

  As much as possible for your subject area, attempt to make your site attractive to the eye. Our visitors don't like an ugly site -- and neither will yours. :)

  Examples of patently unpleasing designs are: blinking text, excessive animated graphics, large bulky tables with visible borders, hard to read fonts, backgrounds that clash with font colors, and glaring colors.

• Background Music should be omitted:

  Unless absolutely applicable and necessary to the topic, sites with background midi's or other sound are not accepted. Even if a background sound is deemed necessary to your topic, the ability to stop the sound, or have the sound not repeat is a definite plus.

• Navigation should be easy to use, and efficient:

  An easy to use site is a MUST. Even the most informational site can become useless if one cannot understand how to navigate from one area to another.

  Popup windows, redirections, and similar devices will negatively effect our perception of your sites navigation during review.

Detailed Content Guidelines

• No Adult Material:

  We encourage the submission of INFORMATIONAL sites about mature topics such as sexually transmitted disease, puberty, or relationships. What we do NOT want is 'adult sites of an entertainment nature'. :)

  Our reasons for this are simple. These types of sites are well indexed by other search engines, and we feel it's not necessary to provide further resource to them. In addition, we would like a search for mature topics (such as those mentioned above) to yield a successful informational search.

• Sites that exist purely for a negative purpose are not accepted:

  Examples of this would be sites promoting racism or other prejudice, negative political campaigns, illegal activities, hate crimes, war, or other malice. We do not believe in spreading hate throughout the internet. It's Silly.

• English must be the primary language:

  At this time, only sites written primarily in English will be accepted. The only exceptions to this would be sites that exist to teach or translate the foreign language. In the future, we may expand our directory to other regions.

• No Basic Commerce or E-Commerce sites:

  At this time, we are not accepting basic commerce sites. We may expand our shopping channel in the future, and would be interested in your submission at that time. For the moment, if your site exists purely to sell a product, please withhold your submission.

  Exceptions to this would be:

  • Sites that not only sell, but also contain useful detailed information about the product: a volume of moderated product reviews, in depth descriptions, extra product photos, free support, etc.
  • Sites with unique pricing scheme ('will beat' prices, specific $ off or % off discounts, free shipping, etc.)
  • Sites that use rewards, rebates, and other discounts to ensure user satisfaction, and document these features thouroughly.

  The bottom line to this is that we are only accepting EXCEPTIONAL commerce sites at this time, that not only sell a product - but offer something else to the surfer.

  MLM Sites are not being accepted at this time.

• No Affiliate Sites:

  Here, we are referring to sites that exist ONLY for the promotion of a particular affiliate program. Sites that contain their own content, and use affiliate programs to supplement income are QUITE welcome and encouraged.

  We cannot stress this enough: Do not submit sites with an affiliate code in the URL. Not only will we not accept these sites, but we will report such submissions to the administrators of the affiliate program. We thank you for your cooperation.

• Please only submit your ROOT url. Sub pages will be spidered.
